What you should know before and after your hair biostimulation session

Hair biostimulation is a regenerative treatment that stimulates hair follicles through microinjections into the scalp, promoting hair growth, density, and health. As with any procedure, pre- and post-session care directly influences your results. This guide has everything you need to know.

Before your appointment

Arrive with clean hair — washed the same day. Do not apply gel, spray, wax, or any styling products, as these make it difficult to access the scalp.

Avoid alcohol 24 hours before the session. If you take aspirin, ibuprofen, or other blood thinners, consult your doctor about whether it's possible to stop taking them 24 to 48 hours beforehand—these medications can interfere with the biostimulation process.

Do not dye your hair at least one week before the treatment and avoid prolonged sun exposure on the scalp in the days prior.

If you have any irritation, active wounds, or infection on your scalp, please let us know before your appointment so we can assess whether it's the right time for the session.

Come well hydrated and make sure you have eaten — the treatment lasts approximately 45 to 60 minutes.

After your session

Do not wash your hair or apply styling products for the first 12 to 24 hours. Avoid the gym, sauna, or any activity that causes heavy sweating for the first 24 hours—heat and humidity can interfere with your scalp's response to the treatment.

Do not apply dyes for at least two weeks after the session. Protect your scalp from direct sunlight for the first 48 hours—wear a cap or hat if you go outside.

Do not scratch or massage the treated area on the day of the procedure. Avoid alcohol for the first 24 hours.

What is normal?

It is completely normal to experience slight redness or sensitivity on the scalp for the first few hours after treatment. This is part of the skin's natural response and will disappear quickly.

The results of hair biostimulation are progressive — the first changes are usually noticeable a month after the first session and become more evident as the treatment progresses.

To boost your results

These supplements are scientifically backed and work well in combination with hair biostimulation:

  • Minoxidil 5% — stimulates hair growth and strengthens follicles by improving blood circulation in the scalp. It is the topical treatment with the strongest clinical evidence available for hair loss.

  • Ketoconazole shampoo reduces scalp inflammation, improves overall scalp health, and may help partially block DHT, the hormone linked to hair loss. Use it 1 to 2 times per week, not as a daily shampoo.

  • The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density — peptides, especially copper peptides, show promising evidence for improving hair density and strengthening hair. Research in this area is more recent, but the results are encouraging as a complement to previous treatments.

If you notice excessive swelling, intense pain, or any other unusual reaction after your session, please contact us immediately for guidance.
